Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. We also accept payment by PayPal or Amazon Pay. If you decide to use either of these two methods, you’ll be taken to either the PayPal or Amazon Pay website, where you’ll be prompted to log in and process your payment. You’ll then be directed back to our merchant website once your transaction is complete.

Where is my refund?

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Ordering and delivery

Can I place an order without creating an account?

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account. We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time. It’s quick and easy to create an account. Just visit https://account.distinctive.gifts/ and follow the instructions on-screen.

Where is my order confirmation?

This is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at contact@distinctive.gifts just in case there’s a problem with your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

Can I alter my order after I placed it?

Sadly, we’re unable to modify your order once we’ve started processing it. If you need to order a greater quantity or an additional product, please place a new order online.

When will my order arrive?

Orders that require shipping within the U.S. will be delivered within three to ten days, depending on your preferred shipping method. Shipping to countries outside of the U.S. may take up to 14 days. Please get in touch if your order hasn’t been delivered according to the expected timescales, and we will check your order status.

What countries do you ship to?

We ship to most regions worldwide. While we only offer free shipping to destinations within the contiguous United States (i.e. all states except Alaska and Hawaii), we will ship to other locations around the world but must unfortunately pass on the estimated shipping cost as part of the order total.

We reserve the right to contact you about your order and potentially cancel it if shipping costs prove prohibitively costly once the order is ready to ship to you.

How much is shipping?

Shipping costs depend on the item you’ve ordered and the country where it’s being delivered.

We provide free shipping within the contiguous 48 U.S states, i.e. excepting Alaska and Hawaii. Please see our Shipping Policy for more details.

 

Do you offer fast shipping/when will my order ship?

We aim to get orders shipped out within 2 to 3 business days. Since we are a small business and most items are made and/or personalized only when ordered, we do not stock a warehouse of goods that can ship immediately. Flat rate continental US shipping typically takes around 5 business days after shipping. International destinations will take longer and may even involve customs delays.

Returns

How do I return an item?

While we hope that all items are to your satisfaction, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as final-sale products (custom, special orders or personalized items). If the order has a manufacturing defect though we will work with you to find a solution.

How long does it take to return an item?

This depends on the carrier or shipping method that you choose when returning your item. Once we receive your return, we’ll notify you by email. We aim to process refunds within three days after receiving the item, but it can take several days for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund into your account, or onto your card.

Communications

When will you respond to my question??

We operate at 9am to 5pm (Eastern US time), Monday through Friday except for US National Holidays. While we might not respond immediately we strive to do so within 12 business hours.

Please be aware too that this is a small business and does not have a staff available for questions 24/7.
